Adrien Creuse, aka The Boo, grew up in Paris in the late 80s listening to French Rap cassettes. Before long however, enticed by the movements in the scene on the other side of the Atlantic, he found himself immersed in East Coast Hip-hop and particularly that of Wu-Tang.

Interested in the sampling techniques used by the Hip-Hop producers at this time, Adrien went in search of the original tracks and discovered a passion for old funk and soul that continues to this day. From here, the break-beat and jungle rhythms of artists such as Prodigy sparked an interest in dance music and particularly the high octane energy of D’n’B.

After saving up the money to buy a pair of decks at age 15 with his long-time friend and ClekClekBoom co-founder, Jonathan Chaoul, aka Minstre X, it only took Adrien a year to be booked by Paris’ famous Rex Club.

From these humble origins Adrien has been booked to play all around the world, notably for the Paris, Tokyo and London fashion weeks. He has also spent time working for a specialist D’n’B magazine and hosted a weekly radio show showcasing underground music from around the Globe for over 6 years.

Aside from music Adrien is a trained graphic designer and the brains behind all the ClekClekBoom artwork, whose simple yet sleek design has become as synonymous with the label as the music itself. He is also not averse to whipping up a storm in the kitchen.

If you get the chance to experience Adrien play out live, although you will undoubtedly get a large dose of the bass-orientated sounds that the label is known for, you will hear a diverse set which draws from a very broad taste and wealth of experience. And although The BOO is yet to try his hand at production, be sure to listen out when he does.
